About me

Hi,

I am Alex and I’m a self-leadership coach. You might be wondering: what is a self-leadership coach? It means that I’m not only helping my clients improve their leadership skills and address their leadership challenges but also develop deeper self-awareness and basing their leadership on the complex texture of their values, needs, and aspirations. It’s about looking inward, understanding yourself, and using that as a foundation for your life.

My own journey started in a provincial town in Ukraine, during a time of immense change and challenge. As a kid, I was introspective and drawn to learning. I was fascinated with technology, psychology, and spirituality but also faced struggles with direction and confidence. I was shy, lonely, and unsure of my path and at the same time, I didn’t have a lot of awareness of these feelings.

Two pivotal experiences—being seen fully and accepted in a relationship with a friend and the painful experience of unrequited love—pushed me to confront my inner barriers and grow. What started as a personal development journey led me to a professional calling. While working in tech, I found myself drawn to coaching as a way to help others navigate their own transformations.

And apart from a typical career trajectory where I got an engineering degree, a software developer job, led teams, and then segued to coaching, there was another one where I, in parallel, pursued a variety of interests. I made hip-hop beats in my student days, was a jazz journalist, founded the first libertarian site in Ukraine, and opened a Ukrainian restaurant in Prague. These experiences led me to a deeper appreciation of how complex and non-linear our life paths are—much more complicated than any LinkedIn profile can portray—and how in that rich complexity, there often lies dormant wisdom that can guide our personal and professional lives.

Over the last decade, I’ve cultivated a coaching practice in which I specialize in working with two types of people.

1) People who, despite the development of their careers and outward signs of success, lack motivation, purpose, fulfillment, and a sense of direction in their lives. Often they grapple with the question ‘Is it all there is to life?’

2) People who have a big vision but feel that the gap between their current abilities and what’s required to bring their vision to life is too overwhelming. They are smart and disciplined but those are not enough to navigate this gap. Often they settle for less than their soul craves because of how impossible it seems.

In my coaching, we focus on addressing practical challenges and on transforming outdated mindsets and narratives that are silently running my clients’ lives. My coaching is informed by a deep belief in each person’s capacity for guiding their own lives and learning from their own life experience.

Whether you’re seeking to overcome professional challenges, develop leadership skills, or rediscover your purpose, I’m here to help you take meaningful steps toward your goals. If what you read so far resonates with you, book an intro call with me and let’s have a conversation about your goals, challenges, and whether coaching is the right fit for you.
